Rajma / Red Kidney beans - 1 cup
Onion - 1 medium size finely chopped
Tomato - 2 puree / finely chopped
Green chili - 2 Nos.
Ginger&garlic paste - 1 Tsp.
Turmeric - ¼ Tsp.
Chilly powder - ½ Tsp.
Coriander powder - 1 Tsp.
Garam Masala - ¼ Tsp.
Cumin seeds - ¼ Tsp.
Coriander leaves - chopped for garnishing
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tsp
Method:
- Soak the Rajma for atleast 5 hours or overnight.
- Wash the Rajma and pressure cook (2 whistles) with water and salt until it becomes tender.
- Heat oil in pan and splutter cumin seeds then saute the chopped onions and green chilies until the onions becomes golden.
- Now add the ginger-garlic paste and saute them for 2mins and then add the tomato puree and cook till the tomatoes are cooked.
- Add turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, Garam masala powder and saute for 2mins.
- Now add the Rajma along with the cooked water.
- Let it cook for 10 minutes on medium flame until required consistency.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it with Roti, Chappathi, Jeera rice etc.,
