Idli Podi / Milagai podi

Ingredients:

Channa dhal - 3/4 cup
Urad Dhal - 1 cup
Dried red chillies - 12
peppercorns - 1/4 Tsp.
Sesame seeds - 1/4 Tsp.
Curry leaves - 3 sprig
asafoetida powder - 1/4 Tsp
Salt to taste

Method:

  • Dry roast (without oil) all the ingredients one by one in tawa.
  • Allow it to cool then grind it in mixie or blender , make it coarse or powdery ( as you prefer).
  • Let it cool and then store it in air tight container.
  • Mix it with Gingelly Oil and serve it with Idly , dosa or pesarattu.
