Toor Dhal - 1 small cup
Tamarind juice - 1/4 lime size
Onions - 1 medium size (chopped)
Tomato - 1 medium size (chopped)
Chilly powder - 3/4 Tsp.
Coriander powder - 1 Tsp
Coriander leaves - chopped
Oil - 3 Tsp.
Salt to taste
Seasonings:
Mustard - 1/4 Tsp.
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 Tsp.
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
urad dhal - 1/4 Tsp.
To Grind :
- Heat the pan and roast below listed ingredients without oil
Coriander seeds -2 Tsp.
Red chilly -3 Nos.
Grated coconut - 2 Tsp.
Curry leaves - 1sprig
Let it cool and then grind it to a paste.
Method:
- Wash toor dhal and add turmeric powder and pressure cook till tender then mash.
- Heat oil in a vessel splutter mustard and add urad dhal, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves.
- Add onions saute it for 2 mins then add tomatoes. Add any vegetable of your choice.
- Now add chilly, Turmeric, Coriander powder & Salt.
- Wait until the vegetables cook then add grounded paste and tamarind juice.
- Let it on medium flame for about 5 mins then garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve it with idly, dosa, pongal, uthappam.
