Cabbage or Vazhaipoo - 1 Cup (shredded)
Channa dhal - 1 1/2 Cup
Green chillies - 2 (finely chopped)
Red chillies -2 Nos.
Curry leaves - 1sprig (chopped)
Coriander leaves - 2 Tsp. (chopped)
Ginger - 1 Tsp. (finely chopped)
Fennel seeds - 1Tsp.
Asafoetida (Hing) powder - 1 pinch
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method:
- Wash and soak dal for 3-4 hours.
- Grind the dhal along with salt and red chillies coarsely without adding water. Keep 1 Tsp. soaked dhal aside.
- Add all the ingredients, 1 Tsp. of soaked dhal and mix well.
- Heat oil and make round shaped patties with palm or ziploc.
- Deep fry in the oil until golden both the sides.
- Serve hot with chutney / ketchup.
* Add chopped onions when preparing with vazhaipoo.
